And so researching clean eating began... I checked out pinterest... googled... etc.
After gathering information, it became clear that there are different levels of "eating clean". Some people take it super strictly, some people a little more lax... we wanted to begin somewhere in between. While looking for recipes, I found some that claimed to be "clean", but weren't really clean in my book, so I'd either move on, or save the recipe and figure out how to adjust it.
We started with the goal of 100% clean dinners... and clean breakfast and lunch for Bryan and I, while the girls remained on their "Honey Bunches of Oats" and "Mini Wheat" breakfasts and PB and J plus fruit lunches.
Here are the 3 dinner recipes we did the first week:
(yes, only 3 because each recipe made more food than we could eat in an evening)

Clean Eating Slow Cooker Southwestern 2 Bean Chicken
This was great because
A) It was a crockpot recipe... SCORE!
and B) It took NO prep work
Finding "clean" salsa was tricky, but we read the backs of everything and found something we felt was clean. The girls ate it and liked it... We ate it 2 nights in a row, and I would almost say that it was BETTER the second night. You could even serve it over brown rice or quinoa, but we just ate it plain.

Clean Eating Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Sandwiches
OK, now these have the potential to be good, but I just wasn't a fan of the combo of spices used in the sauce. I'm going to keep looking for another clean, pulled pork BBQ Sandwich recipe... this one was too 'cinnamonny' for me.
The girls ate it, but both agreed it was kind of bad tasting.

Curried Chicken Quinoa with Peas
Our first time trying Quinoa, and it was good! I didn't know how the girls would do with a curry, but they ate it up!
This one's a keeper... maybe next time less liquid and more spices. :)
